Please Welcome Michelle Lane and Tina Pavlik to the HWA Social Media Team

We are very proud to announce the latest members to join our Social Media Team, Michelle Renee Lane and Tina Pavlik. In the short period of time that they have been here, have already made themselves indispensable members of this team, working behind the scenes to code, schedule, and upload the Black Heritage in Horror series in February, and the Women in Horror Month series in March.

Michelle Renee Lane

Michelle Renee Lane holds an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. She writes dark speculative fiction about identity politics and women of color battling their inner demons while fighting/falling in love with monsters. Her work includes elements of fantasy, horror, romance, and erotica. Her short fiction appears in the anthologies Terror Politico: A Screaming World in Chaos, The Monstrous Feminine: Dark Tales of Dangerous Women, The Dystopian States of America, Graveyard Smash, Dead Awake, Midnight & Indigo: Twenty-Two Speculative Stories by Black Women Writers and The One That Got Away, and has been featured on The Wicked Library podcast. Her Bram Stoker Award nominated debut novel, Invisible Chains (2019), is available from Haverhill House Publishing. Her nonfiction can be found at MediumSpeculative Chic, and in Writers Workshop of Horror 2 (2021).

Tina Pavlik

Tina Pavlik is a lifelong fan of horror and working on her first book series in the genre. She publishes dark fantasy and erotica in another life for Red Sage Publishing and Changeling Press. Her horror stories sometimes draw on her experiences as a historian, tour guide, and paranormal investigator of one of the most haunted locations in the U.S. She currently works in extras casting in television and film on projects like Amazon’s upcoming show The Peripheral and HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. As an extra, she worked on Banshee, Homeland, and Robert Kirkman’s Outcast and on films like MastermindsPaper TownsHalloween (2018), and The Eyes of Tammy Faye. She also writes entertainment and auto industry articles for Showbiz Cheatsheet and Motorbiscuit.

Michelle and Tina were bought on the team in January and February of this year, to help out with the Horror Writers Association blogs, which appear on our website at horror.org, assisting webmaster Angel Leigh McCoy and myself, and making it possible for us to continue and expand upon the blog content that we deliver on our website. This includes, but is not limited to, working our different Heritage Month series, and Halloween Haunts.

Please give them a warm welcome!
