The “13 Books on the 13th” Raffle

March 18, 2022
Share

A stack of books and a bowl full of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry icecream in front of a pink and blue backdrop that says "12 Books on the 13 Raffle" on the top over the pink and "during the mass author signing and icecream social on Friday, May 13" on the powder blue half-circle at the bottom.

During the Mass Author Signing and Ice Cream Social on Friday, May 13th, the HWA will hold its “13 Books on the 13th” raffle. You will be able to purchase raffle tickets at the registration counter from the time the convention opens on Thursday until 6:00 pm on Friday. We will have thirteen containers, one representing each book involved in the raffle. You will place your ticket(s) into the container(s) of the books you wish to try and win. Write your name and cell phone number on the back of each ticket, in case you’re not present at the drawing.

The drawings will take place around 6:15 pm in the Four Square Ballroom.

All money raised during the raffle will go to fund the HWA’s Diversity Grant Program, supporting underrepresented, diverse people who have an interest in the horror writing genre,
including, but not limited to writers, editors, reviewers, and library workers.

Ticket prices are: $5 for one ticket, $10 for five tickets, and $20 for ten tickets. You can purchase as many tickets as you wish. You can purchase tickets with cash or (preferred) credit/debit card.

These thirteen authors* have generously donated an autographed item for the raffle:

1. Robert McCammon
2. John Edward Lawson
3. Gemma Files
4. Ernest Dickerson (2 autographed BluRays)
5. Jennifer McMahon
6. Brian Keene
7. Sheree Renée Thomas
8. Cassandra Khaw
9. Linda Addison
10. Maurice Broaddus
11. Stephen Graham Jones
12. Steve Rasnic Tem
13. Ellen Datlow

Good luck to everyone and thank you for helping support such an important HWA initiative.

See you in Denver!

James Chambers and Brian W. Matthews
