Zachariah Jones Biography
I have been serving in the US Army (National Guard) since 2006. I enlisted at age 17 to be a 12B (Combat Engineer). After several years and earning my college degree from St. John’s University, I commissioned as an Engineer Officer. In 2018, I transitioned to full-time in the Army National Guard where I currently serve as a Battalion Executive Officer. I currently reside in Stillwater, a small river town in eastern Minnesota, with my husband (Josh) and dog (Delta). In my free time I lift weights, run, cook, yardwork/garden, and of course write.

Book Recommendation: Chasing Shadows Trilogy (Genesis and Convocation)
I’d love for people to read the first two books in the Chasing Shadows Trilogy (Genesis and Convocation). These books are written by me and published under my own imprint, Water Sign Books. The story’s protagonist is Jarek Vedini, a young intuitive/medium that is still grasping with his life after serving in The Great War and his own maturing abilities.
Genesis is set in Saint Paul, Minnesota circa December 1924. Jarek has received several requests to come and investigate the murder of local socialite and spiritualist, Sarah O’Connell. However, Jarek learns quickly that there is no single suspect in the case because everyone in the house is a suspect… even the spirits. Jarek must use his gifts to read the cards, reach beyond the veil, uncover the many secrets that haunt the O’Connell mansion, and find the killer before they strike again. Will he be able to solve this case before it’s too late?
The story continues in Convocation, where Jarek has been summoned to Deadwood to seek out a woman named Ulrika Johnston. However, it doesn’t take long for Jarek to realize there is more at play in this small western town than just a single case. Jarek uncovers a far more sinister mystery of almost fifty women gone missing. Additionally, Jarek’s questionable past is soon brought to light. Haunted by his inner demons, he soon understands that he may not have the strength to fight this fight alone. Will Jarek succeed, or will the shadows finally consume him?
