A Message from the HWA Board of Trustees

We the HWA Board of Trustee listened to your concerns and we care. We understand the need to be clear and do better. Here is our revised statement….

We are acutely aware that we live in a present that is taking away the rights of people, most notably women, people of color, and the LBGTQ+ community. We have been and will continue to actively fight for all of our members, but especially those whose humanity and very existence is being undermined.

Horror is a genre driven by emotions. We understand fear, anxiety, and terror all too well. We are here to support our members, elevate our members, and ensure that everyone’s voices are heard.

We condemn the decisions made by the Supreme Court and we will actively work to make the horror genre an open, safe, and inclusive space.
