HWA Honors Latinx Heritage Month for the Second Year

Share

As the Horror Writers Association launches its second year of the Latinx Heritage in Horror interview series, we are looking to interview authors we did not interview last year. If you are a horror author, poet, or non-fiction horror writer (or writer of dark fantasy or other related genres) who is of Latinx/Hispanic heritage, or if you would like to nominate such an author, please send an email message to Sumiko Saulson at sumikoska@yahoo.com

In the intro, please include:

– The name of the author

– Email, or other contact info for the author

– Briefly, why this author is a good fit

Authors can and are encouraged to self-nominate. The first 30 qualifying authors will be interviewed this year. After that, authors will be rolled over for consideration for 2023.

You do not have to be a member of the HWA to be interviewed, however, if you are, please mention that. If the author is not a member of the HWA, under “why this author is a good fit” briefly explain their relationship to the horror genre. Any Latinx heritage author who writes horror, dark speculative fiction such as dark fantasy, dark poetry, or non-fiction author works about horror fiction who was not interviewed last year can be considered for this series.

We are also looking for an author of Latinx/Hispanic heritage to write the series intro. Last year we had a brilliant intro by Bram Stoker three-time award nominee author Cynthia “Cina” Pelayo. Any author of Latinx/Hispanic heritage including those who were interviewed last year is eligible to write the intro. Please send an email to sumikoska@yahoo.com if you are interested in writing the intro this year.please send an email to Sumiko Saulson at sumikoska@yahoo.com

Deadline: Please send in your recommendations by August 25th
