Kenneth W. Cain
Our next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2018, 1-4 p.m., at Kenneth W. Cain’s house. If you wish to attend, please contact Kenneth for directions via Facebook message at either of his profile pages, through the chapter’s page, or through E-mail. Folks from New Jersey or Delaware—or even members who are just passing through—are all welcome to attend meetings.
Allan Rozinski read a couple of poems for this meeting’s live readings. Also, Eternal Haunted Summer accepted Allan’s poem “In the Labyrinth,” which will appear in the winter issue this December.
We spent some time getting to know our newest attendee, Jack Hillman (his wife Bonnie also attended). Jack spoke of his experience in the writing community and his personal interests, such as collecting handheld weaponry.
We also discussed recent market news and the many different reasons for a rejection letter that don’t have anything to do with a writer’s ability to tell a good story. We further discussed some possible venues to explore attending as an HWA Chapter. Currently, we are working on an event with a local drive-in movie theater that offers a wide-range of horror movie events. Our hope is to continue to expand our membership and try to find some local events to participate in next year.
