Hello, Fellow Horror Writers!
We’ve been busy up here in the Great White North.
We will have a booth at Horror-Rama in Toronto, November 4 and 5.
Look for a few members at Frightmare at the Falls, a new convention in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on November 11 and 12.
We’ve created The Great Lakes Horror Company Podcast as presented by the Library of the Damned which can be found on iTunes and other places on a monthly basis.
We’ve created the Group Hex anthologies—and would you look at that … number two is now here!
Group Hex, Vol. 2 launched October 26, 7:30 p.m. at Glad Day Bookshop in Toronto, with readings, haunted drag queens, vampiric hosts, spooky authors, and arsenic-laced artists in attendance. Published by The Great Lakes Horror Co., the anthology will be available on Amazon and Kindle, with other formats to follow. With Group Hex, Vol. 2, The Great Lakes Horror Co. continues the tradition of terror established with Group Hex, Vol. 1. This diverse horror anthology features chilling tales of terror from best-selling authors, cult favourites, bent minds, and blood-soaked newcomers. Prepare yourself for vengeful spirits, hungry haunted houses, monstrous carnies, diners serving up a side of death, corporate crimes and murderous demons hidden in plain sight.
With illustrations by popular and award-winning genre artists and a few possessed souls with a poisoned inkwell, Group Hex, Vol. 2 is ready to satisfy those with even the most peculiar tastes. Group Hex Vol. 2 features stories from Kelley Armstrong, Suzanne Church, Brian F.H. Clement, Derek Clendening, A. Giacomi, Sèphera Girón, Danann Hawes, Repo Kempt, Nancy Kilpatrick, Monica S. Kuebler, Shebat Legion, John R. Little, D.J. Adadjii, Stephen B. Pearl, Mary Rajotte, Lou Rera, Andrew Robertson, Douglas Smith, Robert Smith, Julianne Snow, Jessie Turk, and Jason White. (Nancy’s second novel, Sacrifice of the Hybrid Princess, in her six novel series, Thrones of Blood, is now out in e-book format (print to follow shortly).
Nancy’s story, “Punkins,” appears in the On Hollow’s Eve bundle, along with Sèphera Girón‘s story, “Marta’s Wish,” here: https://bundlerabbit.com/b/on-hallows-eve?nocache=1#. Check out Nancy’s review of the movie, FRITZ LANG, in The Horror Zine.
Sèphera Girón is excited to announce that her story, “Five in The Six” has been accepted for The Pulp Book of Phobias (Lycan Valley Press Publications). Sèphera and Monica S. Kuebler ran the very first Camp Creepy, which is Canada’s latest horror writers retreat, in September. “The Focus is On Writing!” This event will be annual, and space is very limited so if you want to participate next year, you should contact Monica or Seph ASAP.
Sèphera is the contact person for any HWA Canadian member to send news: email@example.com.
