Poe & Hawthorne Conference
Kyoto Garden Palace Hotel—Kyoto, Japan
The Poe Studies Association, The Poe Society of Japan, The Nathaniel Hawthorne Society, and The Nathaniel Hawthorne Society of Japan invite paper and session proposals for a joint conference to be held in Kyoto, Japan on June 21-24, 2018. Our banquet speaker will be Michael J. Colacurcio, and our plenary speaker will be Takayuki Tatsumi. Some travel grants will be available. All topics related to these two authors, together or separately, are welcome. Please send 250-word proposals to Philip Edward Phillips, Program Committee Chair, at Philip.Phillips@mtsu.edu by August 1, 2017. Any requests for A/V equipment must accompany the proposal.
Session proposals of up to 1,000 words, also due by August 1, 2017, should include organizer and speaker names and affiliations, as well as paper titles and abstracts. Slots for papers will be twenty minutes apiece.
